Nice to meet you! I'm not a member of Slow Food, but I did go to the Salon Del Gusto and Terra Madre in Torino last year, and am a big advocate of eating local (though certain posts on my blog such as, ahem, queso made with Velveeta and offering to ship Ranch Style Beans around the globe may belie that notion.) But any chance I get, I love to visit my grandparents' farm outside of McKinney and whip up a meal sourced primarily from the fruits (and vegetables and fish) of their land.
